VI Nations - Racing the highest-scoring club in Europe

2014/03/17

Throughout the Six Nations Championship, the Racingmen made their supporters very proud, worthy representatives of the club and its colours on the fields of Europe. What's more, our International players wound up the Championship with some impressive statistics, making Racing nothing less than the highest-scoring club of Europe in the 2014 Championship, with a grand total of 107 points, including seven tries, all scored by Racingmen.

Fly-half Jonathan Sexton, 2014 Six Nations champion with Ireland, finishes top scorer of the Championship, with a personal tally of 66 points, from four tries, eight conversions and ten penalties, and a success rate of 75%.

The French international scrum-half, Maxime Machenaud, finishes fifth top scorer of the Championship, with 26 points from four conversions and six penalties, in only two starts. Missing only one of his eleven shots at goal, Max finishes the Six Nations with the remarkable success rate of 90.91%.

The Welsh centre Jamie Roberts, ran in two tries in the last round against Scotland, for a total of ten points

The Ciel et Blanc hooker and captain, Dimitri Szarzewski also crossed the try-line during the last match of the Championship, scoring his own try and adding five points to his side against Ireland.

Consequently, with an impressive total of seven tries and 107 points, Racing Metro 92 easily wins the title of highest-scoring club in the 2014 Six Nations, well ahead of Saracens (ENG, 77), Cardiff Blues (WAL, 61) and Stade Toulousain (52).

Last, but not least, our Welsh flanker Dan Lydiate also produced a remarkable performance on defence. Although rated the second most prolific defender with 55 tackles (behind Quintin Geldenhuys of Italy, 70), with a 100% success rate Dan was the most efficient tackler in the Six Nations, not missing a single tackle in the Championship!

On aimerait la même chose en top 14 cette Saison ! Sexton restera-t-il la saison prochaine ? Imhof sera-t-il renouvelé ?
